WHO WE ARE

At IIT we work enthusiastically to develop human-centered Science and Technology to tackle some of the most pressing societal challenges of our times and transfer these technologies to the production system and society.

Along with the development of its new Strategic Plan 2024-2029, Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) has been potentiating Research Data services, aimed at enabling new data-driven scientific approaches beside traditional experimental research. Moreover, IIT is one of the partners of the Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) project, whose main goal is to enable access to genomic and related phenotypic and clinical data across Europe, by establishing a federated, sustainable, and secure infrastructure to share the data. In line with these targets, to guarantee that genomic data is professionally managed at all stages of the research cycle, data stewardship competences must be developed and integrated, to support scientists to keep the quality, integrity, and access arrangements of data and metadata in compliance with the applicable law.
