We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic R&D Hard Boiled Candy & Chocolate Technologist for our office in Lainate (MI) to support our Group R&D.

Main purpose of the role:

Within our Group R&D Hard Boiled Candy & Chocolate team we are looking for a Technologist who will manage global multiple Hard Boiled Candy and Lollipop project of low/medium complexity from formulation development to industrial line design & line start up and ensures on-time and on-budget delivery.

What you will do:

The activities are related to Pilot plant and Industrial Scale Up:

  • Organize and perform trials and experiments in the pilot plant with the supervision of the Sr Technologist. Cooperate to innovate or to improve quality and cost of edible part, also keeping contacts with external suppliers for identifying new ingredients opportunities;
  • Lead the laboratory activities in Lainate for new recipes or improvement of existing ones;
  • Support the Sr Technologist about the organization and assistance in loco of factory trials, by liaising with Local R&D teams and eventually external suppliers, defining recipe , process parameters and product specification. Defines processes according to PI&D and the process capabilities of the production lines. Support the execution of the technological audits;
  • Support the Sr Technologist on giving advice/support on product modifications and cost reduction processes in the final product, maintaining quality standards and or improving yields;
  • Benchmarking and internal product evaluation. Perform Benchmark analysis. Requests analysis of tests and/or reference samples. Characterization of products through a range of measurement techniques.

Who you are:

  • Degree in Food Technology/ Chemist/ any other scientific matter;
  • 3 years’ experience in confectionery, bakery or pasta products and processes;
  • Technological knowledge in confectionary area, especially in hard boiled candy and lollipop technology;
  • Good level of English to sustain technical discussion and report preparation;
  • Good knowledge in product formulation/RMs and candy processes;
  • Attitude to work in laboratory and with machines;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as team in different geographical and cultural areas, but also independently from a remote setting;
  • Good ability in trouble shooting and problem solving;
  • Proactively searching for continuous improvement;
  • Accuracy and attention to details.
